Dear Annie, Gabe, and Hope,

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Alex Mathew. He was my cherished school friend who took the effort to keep in touch and bring our batch together. Alex's warmth, kindness, and dedication to maintaining our friendships will always be remembered and cherished. There are so many good memories with Alex.

In moments like these, words may feel inadequate, but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all. May you find comfort in the cherished memories you shared with Alex and in the love and support of those around you.

Rest in the arms of our Savior, Alex, until we meet again.

If there is anything I can do to support you during this difficult time, please don't hesitate to reach out.

With deep sadness,

Alex and I were friends in Bangalore in Bishop Cottons! He was the other tall Malayalee but way more athletic than I was! He had a natural leadership quality that made people draw to him. I remember his infectious laugh that would convey his enjoyment for life and friendship! He enjoyed the friendships he had and brought many people together. Alex will be missed, he was a great friend to many and the glue between our past and the present. Rest in the arms of your savior and till we meet again we will rejoice together in the presence of our God!

My earliest memory of Alex is of a thin lad with braces, dragging a hockey stick behind him—a well-liked chap. I take consolation in knowing that he is in his Father's arms, and I count myself simply lucky to have known someone whose exemplary character is so readily reflected in his photo. May we cherish the memories he has left us and look forward to seeing him again one day.

I had joined cottons in 1980. Being in the boarding Alex very soon became my friend. Non complicated and loving. In fact every memory of him is so fresh and sweet. Can't belive that he is not in this world but the faith of seeing him in heaven is the joy. Love you Alex. Will meet you on the shores of heaven. I pray for your family and send my heartfelt condolences.

I came to cottons in 1987 from Hyderabad, though my mom's roots go back to Punalur in Kerala.

I had seen a well structured athelete in Alex, a fighter for the Pope House, a basketball player for the school team and young handsome looking boy with various talents which added to his personality.

He was our junior, and through our common friends Thomas Jacob and Leon Itteachen I got to interact with him, most often on the sports field.

A very humble and friendly person to know.

My condolences to the family at this time of sorrow and pain at the loss of a man of GOD, (as I've read about him) and every other unique relationships he shared with all.

Jn 14:1-3, is our comfort because we believe. And so we know the goodness of GOD and rest in HIS WISDOM, that this was the perfect time for his return to our LORD JESUS CHRIST to be with HIM forever.

I'm also sure that because of his faith, the family will find strength from grace which is in Christ Jesus and to trust that GOD will work everything out and turn all for good because we continue to love GOD and live for HIS purpose.

Our God is a FATHER to the fatherless and HUSBAND to the widow.

I hope my sharing of what I believe will be a word of hope and encouragement at this time of spiritual battle as one tries to find reasons and as a word of comfort in this time of need, as we live by faith.

May GOD ALONE be glorified in our lives.(Rom 14:7-8) Amen! Hallelujah !

Dear Alex, Hey buddy, for everything, thank you. Having been blessed with one of my finest Cottonian friendships and brotherhood, I'll see you on the other side.

Dear Annie, Gabe and Hope, You guys are his candles. Shine his light onwards, wavering neither to the right nor to the left, go On Straight On! Godspeed

Dear God - Not cool!

Alex was this tall and skinny guy who was an extrovert. From the days of Bishop Cottons and his famous TVS 50 where even 3 of us would fit and it would still move was some kind of amazement. But on the way back, when it ran out fuel, we had to push the little thing back to the closest petrol station.

Then in America, Alex would come over to Milwaukee to party at my yearly rooftop New Year’s party where he made so many friends.

Alex was a friend everyone needed because he gave back more than we gave him. No words have been created or written to describe what a fantastic human being he was. We can try but we can’t.

I am happy to be able to say that he was my great friend. I will always miss you buddy. Have a beer up there and toast a cheers to me down here. Love you buddy.

It’s hard to imagine a world without you in it without your infectious smile... The shock and sadness that came with your sudden passing still feels so raw. But amidst the pain, there is an overwhelming sense of gratitude for having had you in our lives.Though it hurts to know you’re not here with us, I find comfort in knowing you lived with authenticity and compassion. You may have left this world too soon, but your spirit and the memory of your friendship will continue to live on in every life you touched. Our deepest condolences to Annie, Gabriel & Hope.

RIP dear Alex

Alex was an absolute gentleman in Cottons where I met him. We met on many other occasions and it was always a pleasure to converse with him as he had a great perspective on life and his mannerisms were awesome.

I am not surprised to hear that he was a mentor and coach to many. Neither am I surprised to hear of his responsibilities at the Metro Church of God.

Well done Alex. May your sweet spirit rest in the presence of our Lord !
